As a fairly new author, I went into the TCBF with a blank slate and it did not disappoint. What I saw were others like me – getting out there, putting their books on tables and watching people pick them up, put them down and in some cases buy them. Before this jaunt with Skywater Publishing Cooperative, all my books published by local middle grade publishers. They never had me go to fairs, festivals and such. I just wrote books, they published them and people bought them. Real connections seemed lost to the wind. Sure a few fans reached out to my author website, but it was different at the festival.
It all felt like a real thing. I enjoyed talking to people about my book and trying to sell them on the plot. I learned the terms infinity and multiverse were lost on older generations, but the younger generations were excited about the possibilities an infinite universe had.
I want more of that connection in the future. So reach out. Follow me on social media. Email me. I want to hear from you.
